About these terms
Raisonne is run by [PLACEHOLDER: legal name of the operator], [PLACEHOLDER: registered address]. By using the site or creating an account you agree to these terms. Our privacy notice explains what we store about you.
Independent research, not an official catalogue
Catalogues on Raisonne are independent research resources. They are not official and are not authorised or endorsed by any artist's estate or foundation unless a catalogue says so.
Catalogues are works in progress and can contain mistakes. Do not rely on them alone to authenticate, value, buy or sell a work.
Your account
- Use a real email address and keep your password to yourself.
- One account per person.
- Your display name is shown publicly as the compiler of any catalogue you claim.
- [PLACEHOLDER: minimum age to open an account]
Claiming an artist
Each artist has one catalogue and one owner. The first person to claim an artist becomes its compiler, and nobody else can claim it after that. Platform administrators can reassign or release a claim, for example if a catalogue is abandoned or the claim is disputed.
What you add
- You are responsible for the records, sources and images you add.
- Cite a source for every value. Leave a field empty rather than guess.
- Only upload images you have the right to use. Otherwise link to the image where it is published and credit its source.
- Do not add anything false, misleading, unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.
[PLACEHOLDER: the permission contributors give the operator to display and keep their contributions, to be drafted by a legal adviser]
Sources and credits
Images and information are credited to the sources they come from, and the credit is shown with each record. Rights in those images and texts stay with their owners. Showing a credit does not mean the source endorses the catalogue.
Removing content
Rights holders, estates, foundations and anyone concerned by a record can ask for it to be corrected or removed by emailing erling@journeyagency.com with a link to the page. We review every request.
We may remove content, or suspend an account, that breaks these terms.
Liability and law
[PLACEHOLDER: limitation of liability, to be drafted by a legal adviser]
[PLACEHOLDER: governing law and courts]
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Questions? Email erling@journeyagency.com.
